Ladki Bahin Yojana eKYC: Fix Stopped ₹1,500 Payment

If your ₹1,500 has stopped, an incomplete or incorrect eKYC is the reason to check before anything else. This page walks through the Aadhaar-based re-verification, the exact errors that block women, and what the Women & Child Development (WCD) Department is doing right now to reactivate genuine beneficiaries.

What eKYC means for your ₹1,500

eKYC is an Aadhaar-based identity check under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. It links you to the Aadhaar Payment Bridge System (APBS) so your Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) lands in your own account. Under the Government Resolution dated 18 September 2025, this check is no longer one-time. It is now a yearly re-verification, and every beneficiary must repeat it in a June–July window to keep her monthly payment.

Miss it, and the payment pauses. Complete it, and any money held during the gap is released together as a single combined DBT credit.

Where the scheme stands now (13 July 2026)

The WCD Department addressed the removal reports directly. Claims that 92 lakh women were cut from the list were called factually incorrect and baseless. The verified breakdown:

  • Over 60 lakh accounts closed for not completing eKYC despite the window that opened in August 2025 and the April 2026 grace period
  • About 15 lakh flagged for annual income above ₹2.5 lakh
  • Roughly 5 lakh flagged for a four-wheeler registered in their name

The scheme now covers around 1.5 crore women, down from a peak near 2.43 crore. WCD Minister Aditi Tatkare confirmed the scheme continues, and a re-verification drive is underway so no eligible woman is denied. If your eKYC was done but your payment still stopped, your case falls under this drive.

The government-employee question that wrongly blocked 24 lakh women

One step traps more women than any error message. The declaration A.S. No. 1 is written in the negative in Marathi — it asks you to confirm that no one in your family works for the government. Around 24 lakh women read it too fast and ticked the wrong option, so their accounts were marked as government-employee households and payments stopped. After re-verification, nearly 20 lakh were confirmed eligible again.

If this is you, do not reapply from scratch. Open the same eKYC link when the window is active, answer the question correctly, and complete Aadhaar OTP authentication. Your account reactivates and pending money is released in the next cycle.

When online eKYC will not work for you

If your mobile is not linked to your Aadhaar, the OTP never arrives, so the online route cannot work. Use biometric eKYC instead. Visit a CSC centre, a Setu Suvidha Kendra, or your Anganwadi Sevika who has a fingerprint device, and carry your Aadhaar card. This is also the practical option where the network is weak and OTP keeps failing.

eKYC done but money still not credited

A completed eKYC does not always mean the money lands. The usual block is a missing NPCI DBT mapping — your Aadhaar is seeded to the bank, but the account is not tagged to receive government scheme payments. Check your seeding status at uidai.gov.in under Bank Seeding Status. If it shows inactive, ask your bank branch for the Aadhaar Seeding & DBT Linkage form and request DBT enablement.

How to check your eKYC status

Log in at the official portal with your registered mobile number, open the eKYC status section, and look for Completed. A quicker check: enter your Aadhaar on the eKYC page — if it sends an OTP, your name is on the beneficiary list. For status meanings and the beneficiary list check, see our application status guide.

Stay safe from fake eKYC sites

eKYC is free. No official worker, agent, or centre charges a fee at any stage. No government officer will ever call, SMS, or WhatsApp you asking for your Aadhaar OTP — sharing that OTP hands over your identity. The only working eKYC address is ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc; read the spelling letter by letter, since fake sites copy it with a missing letter or a .com swap. Report fraud to 181, or online fraud to cybercrime.gov.in / 1930.

Quick answers

Your case is covered by the WCD re-verification drive announced on 13 July 2026. Check your NPCI DBT mapping and status; do not reapply.
