What is Ladki Bahin Yojana? (योजना काय आहे)
Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a Maharashtra government scheme that pays eligible women ₹1,500 every month directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank account. Over a year that adds up to ₹18,000, sent through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) using the Aadhaar Payment Bridge System (APBS), so the money reaches the woman’s own account with no middleman in between.
You will see the scheme written several ways: Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, माझी लाडकी बहीण योजना, or simply Ladki Bahin Yojana. On the approval SMS sent by the government, it appears as MMLBY. These all mean the same scheme.
It is run by the Government of Maharashtra through the Women & Child Development Department (महिला व बालविकास विभाग). Deadlines and updates are announced by the WCD minister, Aditi Tatkare. The scheme was launched on 28 June 2024 by the Mahayuti government.
The purpose is simple: a steady monthly amount that gives an adult woman some money of her own. This is cash assistance for women aged 21 to 65. It is not a scholarship, and it is not a girl-child education scheme, which is a common mix-up worth clearing up early.
Today more than 1.7 crore women receive the payment. The state set aside ₹26,000 crore for the scheme in the 2026–27 Budget, and it continues to run.

Ladki Bahin Yojana eKYC — Complete It, Fix Errors, Check Status (ई-केवायसी)
If your ₹1,500 has stopped, incomplete or incorrect eKYC is the most common reason. Fix that first, before anything else.
What eKYC is, and why it is now yearly
eKYC is an Aadhaar-based identity check — done by OTP or fingerprint — that links you to the Aadhaar Payment Bridge System so the money can reach your account. Under the September 2025 Government Resolution, it is now an annual re-verification: every beneficiary must repeat it in a June–July window each year. The current window runs from 1 June to 15 July 2026.
The official eKYC link, and how to reach it safely
The only official eKYC page is ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc. You do not need a login or password for eKYC — only your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the mobile number linked to that Aadhaar. Type the address yourself. Any site that asks for a fee, or requests your OTP over a call or WhatsApp, is fake.
Step-by-step online eKYC (OTP method)
- Open ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the captcha shown.
- Tick मी सहमत आहे and press ओटीपी पाठवा.
- Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile.
- Enter your father’s or husband’s Aadhaar number and verify its OTP.
- Read the A.S. No. 1 and A.S. No. 2 declarations, then select your caste category.
- Tick the final box and submit.
- Wait for the success message, then save a screenshot as proof.
Do your eKYC early in the window, not on the last day — the portal is slowest near the deadline.
The government-employee question that wrongly blocked about 24 lakh women
Slow down at one step. The declaration marked A.S. No. 1 is written in the negative in Marathi — it asks you to confirm that no one in your family works for the government. About 24 lakh women read it too fast and ticked the wrong option. Their accounts were marked as government-employee households and the payments stopped. After re-verification, nearly 20 lakh of them were found eligible again.
If this happened to you, you do not reapply from scratch. Open the same eKYC link during the open window, answer the question correctly this time, and submit. Your account is reactivated and any pending money is released in the next cycle.
eKYC error messages, and what each one means
| Message / problem | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| हा आधार क्रमांक यादीत नाही | Your Aadhaar is not in the beneficiary database | Call 181 with your Application ID — do not reapply |
| OTP not received | Your mobile is not linked to your Aadhaar | Do biometric eKYC at a CSC or Aadhaar centre |
| Invalid OTP | The Aadhaar–mobile link may be inactive | Wait ten minutes and retry; if it repeats, visit a Setu Suvidha Kendra |
| Name mismatch | The name on Aadhaar and ration card differ | Get it corrected through your Anganwadi Sevika |
| eKYC already completed | Your record is verified | Nothing to do — wait for the next payment |
| Account suspended | Incomplete eKYC, or the wrong A.S. No. 1 answer | Redo eKYC during the open window |
Offline (biometric) eKYC when online does not work
If your mobile is not linked to your Aadhaar, the OTP will never arrive, so the online method cannot work for you. Use biometric eKYC instead: visit a CSC centre, Setu Suvidha Kendra, or your Anganwadi Sevika who has a fingerprint device, and carry your Aadhaar card. This is also the practical route in areas where the network is weak and the OTP keeps failing.
Check Your Application Status & Beneficiary List (स्थिती व यादी)
How to check your application and payment status
- Open ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in and click अर्जदार लॉगिन (Applicant Login).

- Enter your registered mobile number, your password (it is case-sensitive), enter the captcha, and click login.

- On your dashboard, open यापूर्वी केलेले अर्ज (Applications Made Earlier).
- Read the Status column against the meanings below.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| प्रलंबित (Pending) | Under review at ward or taluka level | Wait, and check again after a week |
| मंजूर (Approved) | Eligibility confirmed; you are in the payment queue | Wait for the next installment |
| वितरित (Disbursed) | Money has been released to your bank | If it hasn’t arrived, see the payment section below |
| नामंजूर (Rejected) | A document or income problem | Open the reason, fix it, and appeal through 181 |
| निलंबित (Suspended) | Account paused, usually incomplete eKYC | Complete eKYC during the open window |
How to check if your name is on the beneficiary list (यादीत नाव)
The quickest check is the eKYC page itself. Open ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc and enter your Aadhaar number. If it sends an OTP, your name is in the list. If it returns हा आधार क्रमांक मुख्यमंत्री माझी लाडकी बहीण योजनेच्या यादीत नाही, your Aadhaar is not in the database — call 181 with your Application ID. No internet? Take your Aadhaar card to your Gram Panchayat office or a Setu Suvidha Kendra; they can look up your status on their official terminal.
Payment Shows “Disbursed” but Money Not Received — the NPCI Mapping Fix
Your eKYC is done. The portal shows वितरित (Disbursed). But your bank balance hasn’t moved. This is the most misunderstood problem in the scheme, and the fix is almost always the same.
The cause is that two things people treat as one are actually separate. Aadhaar seeding links your Aadhaar to your bank account. NPCI DBT mapping tells the central payment system which Aadhaar-linked account should receive government scheme money. Most banks do the seeding automatically. The DBT mapping usually has to be requested — and if it is missing, the money leaves the government but has nowhere to land.
Here is the path your ₹1,500 travels:
State Treasury → WCD releases the disbursement file → the portal marks your status वितरित → the NPCI Mapper looks up your DBT-tagged account → your bank branch credits your account.
If the Mapper finds no DBT-tagged account, the payment stalls at that step — even though the portal already says Disbursed.
What to do:
- Check your Aadhaar–bank seeding at uidai.gov.in → My Aadhaar → Bank Seeding Status.

- If it shows inactive, go to your bank branch and ask for the Aadhaar Seeding & DBT Linkage form (the DBT consent form, also called Annexure I). Say clearly that you want this account enabled for DBT government payments.
- Wait 48 to 72 hours, then check again.
Know what the credit looks like. When the money arrives, your statement or SMS will not say “Ladki Bahin.” It shows a short code — MAHABAHIN, DBT MMLBY, WCD-Ladki Bahin, or Govt Transfer. Many women think the money never came because they did not recognise the label.
One account trap: DBT does not pay into joint accounts. It must be an individual savings account in the woman’s own name.
And if a payment is late, it is often not lost. When verification or election rules cause a delay, two months are released together as a single larger credit.
Installment History & Payment Schedule (हप्ता इतिहास)
Payments go out by DBT, and the date varies from month to month — it often shifts to line up with festivals or around bank holidays. When a delay happens, two months are paid together as one larger credit, which is why some deposits are bigger than ₹1,500. The table lists the payments so far, newest first.
| Month | Released | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 2026 | Expected 12–15 July 2026 | ₹1,500 | Current installment |
| May 2026 | Mid-June 2026 | ₹1,500 | Paid to eKYC-verified accounts |
| Feb–Apr 2026 | After eKYC verification | Combined | Delayed by the annual verification drive |
| January 2026 | February 2026 | ₹1,500 | |
| Oct–Dec 2025 | Monthly | ₹1,500 each | |
| Aug–Sep 2025 | Sep–Oct 2025 | ₹1,500 each | Ganesh festival cycle |
| July 2025 | 9 August 2025 | ₹1,500 | Raksha Bandhan timing |
| Apr–June 2025 | Monthly | ₹1,500 each | |
| Feb + Mar 2025 | 8 March 2025 | ₹3,000 | Combined, Women’s Day |
| Dec 2024 – Jan 2025 | Monthly | ₹1,500 each | |
| Oct + Nov 2024 | October 2024 | ₹3,000 | Combined, Diwali |

Who Can Apply — Eligibility (पात्रता)
पात्रता — who qualifies
You are eligible if you are a permanent resident of Maharashtra, aged between 21 and 65 years, with a family income below ₹2.5 lakh a year, and you hold an individual savings account in your own name linked to your Aadhaar.
The scheme covers women across marital situations: married (विवाहित), widowed (विधवा), divorced (घटस्फोटीत), abandoned (परित्यक्ता), and destitute (निराधार). On top of that, one unmarried woman per family can apply.
अपात्रता — who does not qualify
You are not eligible if any family member is a permanent or regular government employee, an income-tax payer, a government pensioner, or a current or former MP or MLA. Families that own a four-wheeler (a tractor does not count) are excluded. A woman already receiving ₹1,500 or more a month from another government scheme does not get a second ₹1,500 here.
The rule most people get wrong: if a family member works on a contract, outsourced, or voluntary basis — not on the permanent payroll — and the family income is still under ₹2.5 lakh, the woman stays eligible. Thousands were wrongly removed over this. Keep the appointment letter as proof.
A useful exemption: if you hold a Yellow or Orange ration card (Antyodaya or BPL), you do not need a separate income certificate. The ration card counts as proof of income.
Quick examples. A 34-year-old married woman, family income ₹1.8 lakh, own Aadhaar-linked account — eligible. An unmarried daughter, the only one in her family applying — eligible. A 67-year-old woman — not eligible, past the age limit. A woman whose only account is joint — not eligible until she opens one in her own name.
Documents Required (आवश्यक कागदपत्रे)
Keep these ready before you start. Each one has a clear purpose:
- Aadhaar card — your identity, and the anchor for the whole payment system.
- Bank passbook, first page — proves an individual account in your own name.
- Income certificate (up to ₹2.5 lakh), from the competent authority. A Yellow or Orange ration card can stand in for this.
- Residence proof — a Maharashtra domicile certificate or ration card.
- Age proof — birth certificate or school leaving certificate.
- Passport-size photo.
- हमीपत्र (Swayam Ghoshnapatra) — the self-declaration form. It is a free download from the official portal. No agent or centre may charge you for it.
The upload rule people fail on: each file must be a JPEG or PDF under 50 KB. Blurred or oversized scans are one of the top reasons applications are rejected — scan in good light, crop tight, and check the file size before you upload.
Special cases: a widow attaches her husband’s death certificate; a divorced woman attaches her court separation papers.
How to Apply — Online, App & Offline (अर्ज कसा करावा)
First, the honest status: fresh registration is currently closed. Right now the portal handles eKYC re-verification, corrections, and reactivations — not new sign-ups. If you have never applied, watch the official portal for the next registration round. The steps below apply when registration reopens, and for existing applicants using the portal now.
Online (official portal)
- Open ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in and click अर्जदार लॉगिन (Applicant Login).
- On the Login page, click Create Account?

- On the Sign up form, fill in: Full Name As Per Aadhaar (In English), Mobile No., Password, and Confirm Password.
- Select your District, Taluka, Village, and Municipal Corporation / Council from the drop-downs.
- Tick Accept Terms and Condition, enter the Captcha, and click Signup.

- After signing up, return to Login, sign in with your Mobile No., Password and Captcha, then fill the application form inside your dashboard.
Nari Shakti Doot app
The official mobile app does the same job and runs better on low-cost phones and weak networks. Download it from the Google Play Store.
Offline
If you cannot apply online, visit your Anganwadi centre, Gram Panchayat, Setu Suvidha Kendra, CSC, or ward office. Fill the printed form, attach your documents, and — this matters — collect the acknowledgement receipt with your application number before you leave. Without it, you cannot track your application.
One firm rule: applying is free at every step. No agent, operator, or centre may charge you for the form, for eKYC, or to “speed up” your application. If anyone asks for money, report it to 181.
Official Links & Portal (अधिकृत दुवे)
These are the only official destinations for the scheme. Any other site or message that asks for your Aadhaar OTP or a fee is fake.
| Purpose | Official link |
|---|---|
| Main scheme portal | ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in |
| eKYC (no login needed) | ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc |
| Applicant login | ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in → अर्जदार लॉगिन |
| Government Resolutions (GR) | gr.maharashtra.gov.in |
| Aadhaar–bank seeding check | uidai.gov.in → My Aadhaar → Bank Seeding Status |
| Grievance portal (Aaple Sarkar) | grievances.maharashtra.gov.in |
| Nari Shakti Doot app | Google Play Store |
| Report cyber fraud | cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930 |
Type these addresses yourself instead of tapping links sent to you, and bookmark the main portal so you always return to the right place.
Fake Websites & Scam Warning (फसवणूक व सुरक्षा)
This scheme attracts fraud because it reaches lakhs of low-income women. A few simple rules keep you safe.
Applying and eKYC are free. No official worker — no agent, no operator, no centre — charges a fee at any stage.
No government officer will ever call, SMS, or WhatsApp you asking for your Aadhaar OTP. Sharing that OTP hands over your identity. If someone asks for it, end the call.
Links that arrive by WhatsApp or SMS claiming to be the eKYC portal are fake. The only working eKYC address is ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc. Read the spelling letter by letter — fraud sites copy the name with a missing letter, a .org or .com swap, or a free sub-domain, and they exist to steal your Aadhaar and bank details.
Never type your Aadhaar number, date of birth, or bank details into any form that is not on the official portal.
If you are cheated or pressured for money, report it to 181. For online fraud, report at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
Grievance, Complaint & Helpline (तक्रार व मदत)
Going to the right place first saves days. Match your problem to the correct channel:
| Your problem | Where to go |
|---|---|
| Status shows वितरित but no money | Your bank branch — ask for the Aadhaar Seeding & DBT Linkage form (Annexure I) |
| eKYC error or rejection | Call 181 with your Aadhaar number and Application ID ready |
| Account suspended | Redo eKYC on the portal during the open window |
| Application rejected | Log in, open the reason under your application, then visit your local WCD office |
| Change bank account details | Your Anganwadi Sevika, or update through the portal login |
| Formal written complaint | grievances.maharashtra.gov.in — select Women & Child Development, describe the issue, upload proof, save the token number |
The grievance portal replies within 21 working days, and you track it with that token number.
Helpline numbers
- 181 — women’s helpline, toll-free, for all scheme issues.
- 1800 120 8040 — state grievance helpline.
- Women & Child Development Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai – 400032.
Extra Benefits Linked to Ladki Bahin (जोडलेले लाभ)
Being an active beneficiary can connect you to a few other schemes. Each is separate, with its own rules.
- Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana gives eligible households up to three free LPG cylinder refills a year. The gas connection must be in the woman’s name. Because it is a separate scheme, confirm your eligibility and the current claim process before you count on it.
- Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi. If a woman already draws money from certain other government schemes, her Ladki Bahin amount is adjusted so the total she receives does not go above ₹1,500. This is why some women get a smaller top-up instead of the full amount.
Do not assume any linked benefit is automatic — most need their own application or a separate check.
Is This the Same as Ladli Behna Yojana? (राज्यनिहाय फरक)
No. These are different schemes in different states, and they are easy to confuse. Ladki Bahin Yojana is Maharashtra’s scheme, paying ₹1,500 a month. If you live in another state, here is the one you actually need:
| State | Scheme | Monthly amount |
|---|---|---|
| Maharashtra | Ladki Bahin Yojana | ₹1,500 |
| Madhya Pradesh | Ladli Behna Yojana | ₹1,250 |
| Chhattisgarh | Mahtari Vandana Yojana | ₹1,000 |
| Odisha | Subhadra Yojana | ₹10,000 a year |
Only ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in handles the Maharashtra scheme. For the others, use that state’s own official portal.
Frequently Asked Questions (सतत विचारले जाणारे प्रश्न)
What is Ladki Bahin Yojana and who runs it?
It is a Maharashtra government scheme that pays eligible women ₹1,500 a month by direct bank transfer. It is run by the Women & Child Development Department and was launched on 28 June 2024.
How much is paid, and how often?
₹1,500 every month — ₹18,000 a year — sent by DBT into the woman’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.
Who is eligible? Can married and unmarried women both apply?
Women aged 21 to 65, resident in Maharashtra, with family income below ₹2.5 lakh. Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women qualify, and one unmarried woman per family can also apply.
Is eKYC mandatory? What is the current deadline?
Yes. Without eKYC, payments stop. The annual re-verification window is open until 15 July 2026, and it must be repeated every year.
How do I complete eKYC if I cannot do it online?
Use biometric eKYC. Visit a CSC centre, Setu Suvidha Kendra, or your Anganwadi Sevika with your Aadhaar card and give your fingerprint.
Why was my account suspended, and how do I reactivate it?
The usual cause is missed eKYC or a wrong answer to the government-employee question. You do not reapply — redo eKYC correctly during the open window and the account is reactivated.
My eKYC is done but I have not received payment. Why?
The most common reason is missing NPCI DBT mapping. Visit your bank, ask for the Aadhaar Seeding & DBT Linkage form (Annexure I), and get the account enabled for DBT.
How do I check my status and whether my name is on the list?
Log in at ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in with your mobile number, or enter your Aadhaar on the eKYC page — an OTP means your name is on the list.
Can a woman apply if her husband is a contract (not permanent) government worker?
Yes. Only permanent or regular government employment makes a family ineligible. Contract, outsourced, and voluntary workers under ₹2.5 lakh do not disqualify her.
What is the official website, and how do I avoid fake sites?
The only official portal is ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. Type it yourself, and never share your Aadhaar OTP or pay a fee.
When is the next installment?
The June 2026 installment is expected between 12 and 15 July 2026.
